Point of Sale aloha 6.1.19 help

Hi I need some POS aloha 6.1.19 help!!!
System : server is Windows XP Sp3, IE 6 with aloha 6.1.19 running on dell GX520 2.4Gh with 2 Gb Ram 80GB drive with 2 40GB Partition
System on C:\ and aloha on D:\bootdrv
Supporting 4 radiant 1220 terminals running Windows XP embedded
Problem ‘s
1) System keeps on hanging with no error logs this is the fifth server out there (all diferant hard ware)
2) Can’t get terminals out of redundecy . when I do a file server recovery on the aloha server all terminas reboot and come back to the same thing
3) The other problem is when a employee gose to check out the terminal crashes
( aloah Quick server encounter a problem and must close)

What is freezing up? The server or the terminals?
File Server recovery problems occur when the terminals can't read and write to the server, usually the firewall is turned on on the server.


1. Check Firewall is turned off on the server
2. Verify if read/write exists between the file server and the terminal's BOOTDRV share.
3. Verify if read/write exists between the FOH terminals and the file server's BOOTDRV share.
4. check lana number on the file server.
5. check lana number on the terminals.
6. check static ip settings on terminals and server

7. check the SERVER, TERMSTR, IBERDIR, IBERROOT

8. check the SERVER, TERMSTR, and IBERROOT variables have the correct values on the FOH terminals.

Also if the terminals are crashing, usually the trans.log for that day is hosed and should be repaired - or rename it and start the day over, then combine them after the eod.
