We're scoping SSE 2005. I image that SSE 2005 maintains a transaction log? Is that correct? If so, would you be able to do a point-in-time recovery of a SSE 2005 database using the FREE tools that you can download along with SSE 2005?

Scenario: We have complex processes that insert, update and delete records, written in VB/ADO. Ocaisonally, this process fails, usually due to the data imperfections we receive from various organizations. If this occurs, would we be able to restore our db to the state it was at before we ran one of these batches?

Thanks!

Alex

Yes SQL Express does use Transaction Logs just like SQL 2005 Standard/Enterprise.

It has the same recovery modes and restore capabilities that SQL 2005 Standard/Enterprise have.
