Okay this should be straight forward but i have not seen it asked in this forum(and don't know how to do it :-( , how do you point an external number to an ACD group i.e if public call this number then direct them to this ACD group , thanks in advance
many ways, easy ways are NUTRI on ddi number for external, or set up ABBdial on ddi TRA to internal group number for internal and external. Same as for any number translation, nothing special about ACD.
Thanks Parnum for the tips . What i'm actually doing is setting up a training system so there will be no external number calling in , just an extension - want the system to be very much like the real thing (but without an externl line coming ) . Have set up 2 ACDs groups for this . I have used free ABBs to point to this ACDs groups but that's where the logic ends/i get lost . How will set up such that an extension will be like the external line and ring across the phones ( depends on the queues i have set etc)and the agents can pick them up - i hope this is clear
you want to know how to set up ACD group and handsets totally?(if this is what you want you don't need an Abbdial at all). what have you done so far? send us your programming.
Thanks Parnum for your valuable input . Believe it or not i managed work it out using Abbdial - I translated the ACD group to a free abb no and it seems to work( Abb No is 57327, Translated Number 68580 (an ACD) . Also created ADNs on the phone keys to represent members to the ACD groups. When i call the ABB no, it rings an ADN on the corresponding ACD group key on the phone which is what i want . What is baffling is that on running this command , i get :
adcdp:abb=57327;
NOT ACCEPTED
ABB 57327
NOT ASSIGNED
But i can see it assigned on The Facility Menu -> used abbreviation -> common abbreviation window ???
Anyway , will see how it goes and keep you updated . Creating ACD or assigning members is pretty straightforward for me ..
