Point extension to outside number

We have an NEC ips 2000. Can a phone extension in this sytem be pointed to an outside number as part of a ring group? Say I have extension 1234 and extension 2345 that are set up in a group to ring at the same time, if neither extension is answered is there a command to point extension 1234 to an outside line or answering service without using the call forward function on the phone itself?

I believe you can forward no answer the pilot in the "Group Call by Pilot" feature which will ring the stations in the group but if not answered should go to the off site extension. Can't say I've tried it though.

Yes it does work, I have tried it in just these circumstances.
