PO Commitments 1

Does anyone know how to get a summary report of PO commitments by GL Number?

I know how to look up an individual account by going Inquiry-->Purchasing-->Budget v. Actual & Committed. This is a great tool for a budget manager.

The problem is us bean-counters need to know how much is committed by each GL account without doing an inquiry.

Any help would be appreciated.

Scott,

There is also Inquiry > Purchasing > Committed Detail, but that's also one account at a time.

If you're looking to see a list for all accounts, I don't think that is possible without a custom report. Here is what it says in the PO Commitments manual:

"Purchase order commitments is available to any reports which can be modified or created using any of the Microsoft Dynamics GP supported reporting tools such as Report Writer, FRx®, Enterprise Reporting, and Crystal Reports."

That is a great question - I cannot imagine how that would be possible. I am going to see if I can investigate that some more.

I got the answer from a GP support engineer: PO Commitments create a budget in GP, which can then be used to report against in FRx just like a regular GP budget.
