PNG's Have Grey Transparent Backgrounds in IE?

Hi,
I recently made a corporate logo for myself in photoshop, i made it with a transparent background as it is an odd shape and will be displayed on a website where the bg colour is not solid.
I saved it as a gif but got white blobs in different areas of the transparencie (mainly round the circle edge)
Then i put it into png format it looks brilliant in firefox and fine in Dreamweaver but if i display it in IE the transparent BG goes and im left with a grey blob.

However i only see the item for a milisecond then it dissapears anyone got some words to help me?

Still cant get it to work just brings up errors could you show me in code how exactly to make it work
