I have a PMVS r4.1. Can I upgrade this to a 5.0? I hace the PCMCIA upgrade card. How is this done? I can't find it in the book. Are these units prone to hard drive failure? Can the harddrive be replaced. I have a 3.1 that wont start. I was wondering if it could be repaired for cheap.

Does the upgrade come with the repair? Are these PMVS cards worth repairing? Now I have a 3.X and a 4.X. Are they junk? I removed 1 because customer was complaining of cut off messages.

Then what is this PCMCIA card that I have? It says PMVS Upgrade 5.0.

That card will upgrade the software on an existing VS R5. It probably says R5.0.16 or something like that. To check the existing version login to mailbox 99, then press 7 to hear the current software version. To upgrade a VS R5 simply power off the system, insert the upgrade card, and power on the system. The VS R5 lites will stop flashing when the upgrade is complete.
