Need some help here. Recent SV8500 install working with Micros Fidelio (Opera) PMS. The connection between these two system only works partially in this hotel environment.

What works is the maid can go to a room and pick up the phone, dial an access code and update the room status in the PMS.

What doesn't work is 'Guest name display' on front desk phones, since any time they check somebody in, the name data doesn't make it to the SV8500. Also, the phone in the guest room remains in 'check-out' mode (they also call it 'room cut off'), until manual check-in is executed from a front desk phone.

I spent the last two days full time trying to figure it out. This is what I know. Physical connection (which is rs232) works fine. Monitoring the interface from the Opera side tells me that whenever the pbx sends something, it is received and acknowledged by Opera. That's why the maid function works. However, anything that's sent by Opera, is not understood by the pbx.

Any time opera sends data across to the pbx, it tells me that it was an 'Unprocessed comEvent' or an 'Unsupported record'.
I changed baud rates on both ends and other rs232 parameters, with no improvement. I tried all versions of Model60/90/120 settings with no results.

I think it's a minor change really I need to find and make on the Opera side for it to talk the right language.
I'm hoping somebody can
a) point me to some manual that describes what the pbx (sv8500 or 2400IPX) expects on this line
b) just give a quick description of it here, or
c) come up with something I may be totally missing.

Thanks

I believe the issue is the Group No. Field from the PMS, after a certan revision of NEC PBX software this needs to a 1 instead of a zero for the check in status.
This is the message field 56-1(check in). You really need to get your vendors together and talking to resolve this. I had the same issue at a hotel after an upgrade.

I'll check on this Group Field setting, but as you said it's for the checkin message, whereby my problem extends to all messages from PMS to PBX, even ack messages. My NEC vendor have been great, and today I'll get Opera on the phone too.
