We have an S8300 running on 6.0 and it was an upgrade from a Definity v12. For PMS, they are using VisualOne by Agilysys, and it's communicating to the PBX through a Comtrol box.

The 8300 goes IP to Comtrol, and then serial to the PMS machine. It was all serial before the upgrade.

We are having trouble with Maid Codes passing from the Avaya to the PMS software. If you do a status PMS Link, it shows that both the physical state and protocol are "up". Database swapping is no.

When you try and dial a Maid Code (*64 in our case), you either get dead air followed by a busy tone, or you sometimes get the 3 beeps, like you're supposed to. No matter which way this is done, and you look at pms-link down, it shows an message in there that the PMS link is down.

I've tried reaching out to Comtrol to see if they support CM 6.0, but they didn't give me an answer. And our PMS vendor hasn't had the answer as to why the codes aren't passing.

Has anyone else setup Avaya CM with Comtrol and/or Agilysys?

no but what does a trace say when you dial *64 ?

When you get the 3 beeps, it actually doesn't show anything in the trace. It shows the extension go off hook, and then back to idle. But if you dial *64 and the room number and your settings are wrong, it will show *64223, then it will say PMS Link Timeout. But supposedly the 3 beeps means it was acknowledged by PMS, but the link between the two drops momentarily and occasionally you'll get booted out of ASA when you dial a code.

var error logs

trace on gateway

sys reset 4.

this sounds like some corruption "local" not integrated look at your logs check the server and gateway trace -pms link,

then reset 4.
