Can anyone recommend any good classes to prepare for the PMP certification exam? UofC has a 3 day "bootcamp" that sounds great but is not offered until March. I would like to study and take the exam by the end of the year. Thanks!

I can recommend two books:
Mulcahy's PMP Exam Prep
and A guide to the Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK) from PMI

Pick up a copy of the "PM Network" magazine from PMI, or search the PMI.org website. There are tons of providers.

Another book I used was from Velociteach. I found that it and the Mulcahy book had some areas where they didn't overlap and that probably adding to my passing margin.

The exam (since October 1) is based on the revised PMBOK. If you buy Rita's book, make certain it is structured to the new PMBOK and not to the old one -- although much of the material is the same, there are enough differences that you should make certain your study materials are up to date.

If you're a member of PMI, check with the local chapter ... our chapter, for example, runs a 5-day (Saturdays only) boot camp at a discount (but you have to be a member of our Chapter to qualify).
