PM 7 can't find links.

We have two machines networked. One as a workhorse and the other with all relevant files.
The problem is, the pages open up fine on the slave but will only open after approx.5 minutes on the master.
Each link has to be found manually for each page and is taking for ever.
Also, can no longer place photos on said pages - Invalid data.
What is going on?
Appreciate any help.

In short PM, does not work well over networks. PM was designed well before networks became common place.

The reliable way to open, edit and save PM files is to make sure that all the required files are on a local drive.

They can be stored on a networked drive for other purposes, but should copied on to the local drive for editing and copied back to the networked drive when the session is complete.
