PM 7.0 File Open in Windows ME

I have just installed PM v7.0 on Windows ME. I find that the file open and save dialogs do not remember the current directory. Every time I have to start at My Computer and work down the directory tree to get to the directory I'm using, which takes a lot of clicks. Is this normal? Is there a work around?
