I have a client that has PM 6.5 on a server and their computers run XP Pro. I am telling them that they will have problems trying to run PM 6.5 on a server, and that it probably won't run well on XP at all. They don't want to spend the money to upgrade to PM 7.0 or InDesign.

Just what kind of problem will I run into? I have to work on their computers and train an individual to run a PM plug-in to create a pictorial directory that will be updated every six months or so.

Thanks,

Daniel

I loaded the plug-in and opened the program to check to see if the plug-in worked, and it did.

I didn't try loading and flowing any photos yet because we haven't taken the pictures.

I did talk to their office manager about upgrading to 7.0. He wants to know how much the upgrade is. Unfortunately, the PM 6.5 box and license is missing in action. That can't be good.

You'll need the Licence number to qualify for the upgrade from Adobe. PM7 uses a different format of licence number from PM65.

The cost of the upgrade can be found on Adobe's website- you will need to select the country where you live. Click on Print publishing. It's typically €79/GBP65/USD79 + Delivery and any tax.

However, now is the time to move on to InDesign as it has a future. PM is at the end of or even ended its life.
