Recently when I have been on the web and clicked on links, I get one of two error messages:
1. The plugin did not initialize properly
or
2. The plugin was found but an error in the plugin has occurred
...A brief description/definition of 'plugin' would probably be helpful as well.
Thanks

I assume these are liks to download something? But try this. Click start--run--type regedit and click ok. Doubleclick on each of these:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Plugins

After you doublelclick the Plugins key you'll see a key named Extension underneath. Right click on it and choose delete. Then close regedit. You may or may not have to restart after. That key is safe to delete but you might want to back up it up first if you like but it should get recreated if and when it's needed.

Note: i'm referring to the Extension key under Plugins not the Extensions key under Internet Explorer. Don't delete the wrong one cause they aren't the same.

I tried that but it didn't work. The interesting part is that I was able to download using a different profile on the same computer (this is Windows 95. That may provide a clue). There must be something wrong with my profile, is my guess. Any more ideas?
