I am running Internet Explorer 5.5 and Windows ME. I often go to open a web page and receive the message “The plug in did not initialise”, or “The plug in was found but an error occurred in the plug in”. How can I locate the plug in or better, how do I correct the problem.

Could be flash or other application error...click on the Disable Script Debugging box in Tools/InternetOptions/Advanced and while there uncheck the box Enable 3rd party browser extensions. (requires restart)

gargouille, thank you for the reply, Disable Script Debugging box was already checked, I could not find Enable 3rd party browser extensions. Could it be under another name?
