Hi,

- I need to access on the console directly, which means I will plug in a monitor, a keyboard and a mouse to my Solaris box, could I just go ahead and plug them in, or should I have to do something first?
- How do I check out the set up is ready for those accessories above?
- If after plugging them in, I still can not access those accessories, what commands should I issue to make them "connected" and work?
Thanks

Plugging in a keyboard while the O/S is running will place the system at the "ok" promt.

To work around this do a man on kbd.

/etc/default/kbd file is teh file you must vi.

Also if you so to sunsolve there are numerous Docs on this
matter, ie. ID 1106, 2235, etc.

Disconnecting a keyboard from a running system will not have an affect BUT RE-CONNECTING will create a break (ok).

If you happened to disconnect/re-connect the keyboard and

the system went to the ok prompt YOU could get lucky and type go (which will continue the O/S--this will take a couple of minutes)

By the way if this system support RSC you should set the rsc console up.
