Plug extension port into line port

Can I plug extension port into line port. I need to run some auto attendant testing and have just moved homes and dial tone will not
be available for two weeks here. Can I get away with plugging in an extension port to line port and calling extension say 17 on line 1 and have AA pickup? I don't want to try and mess up brand new ACS.

Sure, I would suggest that you remove all line appearances from Ext. 17, so that it just gets Intercom dial tone, but that's a fine way to check incoming call flows.
