I have several .plt files that have been converted to PDF and then placed into a PM7 document. Everything prints great on an office laser. Looks great on screen. Sent to the printers and they bring back a proof with 20 pages (out of 48) with "ghosted" images. They are there, but so light you can't even tell what they are. It looks fine on the screen and when I print to a laser printer so I don't even know where to start. The images are there, but you can't really see them. When I try to place eps instead of pdf I get the same results.
Suggestions?

Sounds like the preview is being printed rather than the PDF.

Is it essential to place the PDFs into PM? Can the PDFs be combined in Acrobat and the resulting PDF printed?

Have you tried creating a PDF (using high end parameters)from your PM file and printing that?

The other issue could be several translations between CMYK and RGB colour spaces. Use CMYK throughout.
