plines and plt files

Here is my problem, I have to create plt files from AutoCAd 2000i and import them into Coreldraw 11. The CAD drawings are horizontal and vertical section views of windows and doors. All the individual parts have hatching with the perimeter of the individual parts being plines. These are then plotted as a plt file and the plt is then imported into Corel. The vector artwork comes in but the plines are not connected and the harching is busted up into indivual lines also. So, then the person working in Corel has to manually connect the lines back together so the individual parts can be filled with color. Any ideas as to how to get a pline to hold when jumping between software programs? Thanks.

Jon,

Not real sure of how to fix your problem but, you may try using a different driver to create you plt files, as some different models may allow better plotter calibration and or better settings you could monkey with to get better output. I wonder to if creating a DXF file wouldn't be a better option.

Thanks for the reply. I have used dxf, eps, copy&paste, with little success. A plt works seems to work the best and that still requires a lot of cleanup when the file is in Corel Draw. As far as using different drivers that might be something to look into. I'll have to read up on how the different setting affect the drawing. Yep, CAD programs and Illustration programs seem like oil and water some days. Oh by the way, everything has to be vector art too so bmp, jpg, tif, isn't an option either. Thanks again.
