... Will some apple hip person please tell me STEP BY STEP just how to get my OS10 G3 to go wireless. I get the airport card... what kind? What configurations... Then what? I understand I can log on remotely in certain places.. how?
Thanks?

You get the airport card. There are only two types of airport cards, the 11b and 11b/11g (airport and airport extreme respectively). Which one you get will depend on your model of laptop. It is either Airport or Airport Extreme compatible. Consult your documentation.

Alternatively you could get a Mac compatible wireless PCI card.

Hope it's worth something.

Airport Cards are hard to find because Apple is not making them anymore. But some apple repair shops will sell them, see thread604-973566. Once you install it, your mac will automatically install the driver and in the networking preferences on the airport tab you should see a check box for "Show AirPort Status in menu bar". This will add an icon to the menu bar, once you click it, you will see a list of Access Points that are broadcasting. Some private APs will ask you for a password, that will require you to get a password from the network administrator. You can probably find more concrete answers at the apple support site:

Good Luck
