I am trying to defrag our exchange server, but every time I try it comes back with Temporary database not specified.

BACKGROUND
it is microsoft exchange 5.5 running on windows NT 4 sever
the file is in

E:\exchsrvr\mdbdata\Priv.edb

I am trying to defrag it to another PC that has space 18GB free to defrag a database of 9.95 GB of which I mapped a network drive right into the folder

Z:

what is the correct syntax Please

Regards Rob

you need to map a drive to the location that you'd like the temporary file to be. If that drive were G: , then this would be a sample of the command line syntax you'd need:

eseutil /d /ispriv /tG:\Folder1\TempDfrg.edb

that's what I have been typing, but it won't happen, what am I doing wrong?

Thanks , finally got it to work, I was putting in a space between the /t and the path of the file, when there should not be one.
