Hi all,

I am wondering, I saw a site: " and they store their images under a sub domain like "images.aSite.com", I don't get why they would store their images in a seperate domain instead of just storing them under The reason I am asking was because I am trying to reorganize my site structure, and I am just wondering are there any point or benefit from doing that... Please advice.

Thanks in advance.

I don't really see the point to it but it is called a subdomain. Some Web hosts allow one to set a folder to be considered a subdomain.

An example would be might set up a subdomain for a user called bigbadwolf like this:

One reason people use subdomains is so from the main site, you cant happen across sensitive data, like databases and such, which you can then download.

Never seen it used for image folders though!
