Hi All,

I am looking for your advice...

I am about to place an order on a server, which I want
to outfit with a simple SCSI RAID-1 system
(Adaptec 2010S or 2015). The vendor of the server
currently has two brands of 36 Gb SCSI HDD, which are in my
price range (approx. $200 per drive).
These brands are:

Seagate 36Gb Ultra 320 Cheetah ST336607LC ($190)
Fujitsu 36.7Gb 10KRPM Ultra320 (80pin) MAP3367NC ($186).

Now my questions are:

1. Could you please comment on these two model
(as long as you had any experience with them).

2. Please recommend (again based on your experience)
some other SCSI brands/model of the same capacity and
price range (the price could go up to $300) as long
as these model have an excellent record of reliability.

Thank you very much in advance !!!

And I need your feedback ASAP ! :(

Seagate Cheetahs are probably the best drive anywhere in your price range. Their MTBF is the best in class, and actually holds true in real world applications. The Fujitsu, while also a good drive, just does not quite measure up to the reliability and performance that the Seagate offers you.

Thank you, JBOTZ !

I'll follow your advice and go with Cheetahs.

HM.
