Hi,
I'm trying to restore files from a media but the following error occurs:

unable to open directory.... EC: access denied
unable to create file..... EC: access denied

It's strange because the directories are created but the files are not inserted inside for the errors above mentioned.

Suggestions??
Please it's very important!
Thank you very much.

p.s.
I'm trying to do it on shared drive. I don't know if this is the cause.

Hi,

It's possible that the user that Arcserve is using to login in does not have the necessary permissions/rights. Try logging in as that user and creating files at that location.

I tried: it's a shared drive (on a different server), so I logged in with that username and it worked!
I don't know what to do: why the directories are created but not the files????

Thank you very much,

Luigi

Hi,

I don't know what is causing the problem but I may have a suggestion to get you past this issue for the time being. Restore the files to a temp directory and then copy them over to the proper location.

I don't know if it's windows based but...

Are you Backup Operator from domain and local?
I know both not indispensable but much better.

Do you try to restore using the higher security level? (Meening using administrative share)

If it can help...
