I'm a newbie to server and email tech and I've just downloaded this progam (4.01a) and really don't understand what is neccesary to use it the way I want, (or how to use it at all for that matter). So with that in mind, (and my reason for posting here), here are my questions and basic desired implementation of the software:

System Description: 4 machines on a workgroup network with the evil empire (MS); 2 are Win 2k, 2 are XP. One of the Win 2k computers is on all the time and it will handle the email distribution and telephony applications, (and nothing else). The other 3 computers are for the users, one of which is mine - and that one uses Net Manager and VNC to control the Win2k computer handling the email and telephony. Standard wireless connection and hub, currently setup without user modification (i.e. basically exposed). Goldmine will be the email application on all computers although currently it is a variety of Outlook or Outlook Express (depending on the computer). ZoneAlarm handles the basic securtity on each computer with the local setting at "medium" and the Internet setting at "high". (I've set up everything including computer assembly, so I'm not a total moron - just close to being one.)

ISP: "always-on" Cable, pluged into wireless hub/router. Only 3 email accounts available from ISP. Variable address and port 25 blocked. Their tech support brochure states the following: Domain Name: cox-internet.com; Outgoing Mail Server: smtp.cox-internet.com; Incoming Mail Server: pop.cox-internet.com; News Server: news.cox-internet.com; FTP Server: ftp.cox-internet.com

Desired Implementation: Because of the port blocking and the variable address (as well as only having 3 ISP provided email addresses), I'm somewhat limited in what I can do. So with that in mind I'd like this:

Sending and recieving email through the ISP. Somehow use the 3 addresses to effectuate multiple addresses. (EX. one of the ISP email address = business@cox-internet; this basic address utilized to send to multiple different users depending on the user. In otherwords somehow turning buisness@cox-internet into BOBbusiness@cox-internet, TOMbusiness@cox-internet, and SERVICEbusiness@cox-internet - or something like that). Additionally I'd like the ability to "broadcast" a message depending on which address is used, i.e SERVICEbusiness@cox-internet.com is sent to each business user, (with of course multiple in-boxes for each user depending on the address). (The section on aliases and address synonyms seems to be concerned with outgoing mail, not incoming mail - which is what I'm concerned about.) For out-going mail I don't see a problem, just have the contact listed in Goldmine with their address and hit send..is there something I'm not getting here?

QUESTION 1: is this do-able? (or something close to this?)
QUESTION 2: IF the answer to question 1 is yes, then how do I configure the server to do this?

Currently I have the Core Module setup like this:

GENERAL tab: Internet name for this system: 192.168.0.3; (the TCP/IP address for the computer that Mercury Mail will be on, (found by ping localhost).)
The next 3 are unimportant
Time Zone: +0000 (I have no idea what this means but the computer's regional properties are set correctly) Auto: is checked (I also have know idea what this is).
Poll For New Mail: Every 10 seconds (perhaps its excessive but I'm not sure it matters)
User Name of Postmaster: Admin (I belive this is the default)
For Delivery Failures, return [15] lines of message (I understand the premis here, if not what 15 lines of message actually is)
Broadcast notifications for normal mail: CHECKED
Broadcast notifications for receipts: not checked
Send copies of all errors to postmaster: CHECKED
Change file ownership to recepient: CHECKED
Suppress validation of "from" field when processing mail: not checked
Hard to quit: not checked

LOCAL DOMAINS tab: [Local Host or Server] [Internet Name]
192 192
192 192.168.0.3
(Is this correct? Should there be more domains? If so, How many, and what should they be called?)

GROUPS tab: (I have nothing here. Just thinking of basic LAN workgroups leads me to believe that that each of the user computers should be listed here. If this is correct then how should they be listed?)

FILES tab: (Not sure, but I don't think there is anything of importance for me here.)

REPORTING tab: (Again not sure, but I don't think anything is of importance for me here.)

ADVANCED tab: (I don't have anything checked here, but stuff here looks as if it might be important.)

POLICY tab: (Again not sure, but I don't think anything is of importance for me here.)

QUESTION 3: is everything correctly set as stated above, or do I need to do something differnt - if so what?

Loaded Modules are S, D, C, and P..(and I think I loaded in X, just in case I needed it for some sort of scheduling)

QUESTION 4: what other areas of configuration need to be made and what should they look like to achieve my desired implementation?

Thanks, any bit of advice on configuration would be VERY helpful.
