Please Help...Spy Sheriff

i used to have spy sheriff on my cpu and then i deleted some files that i seen was extra in my c: and now i think its gone...the only thing is i still cant changed my background, its locked. here is the hj log...please help

I don't have a great deal of time to go through your log...but check a page or two down on Tek-Tips, BCastner and Pechenges have posted something for help with ensuring Spysherrif has been removed.

Thanks to all of you who provided invaluable assistance in removeing "spy sheriff". As others noted, it is a nasty thing that grabs the entire computer. Following the remedies, I believe that I have successfully removed all of "it" from my Windows XP Pro, with the exception of the large graphic that has been left on my desktop. The graphic does not seek to affect anything specific, other than it sits there as a bad reminder to a nasty problem. All of the common removal traits have failed. Any ideas to rid me of this black and red albatros? Many thanks in advance.
