Please Help!!! OpenSSL

I just tried updating my OpenSSL module to version 0.9.6g from 0.9.6b. I copied the openssl.tar.gz file to my tmp folder, and unzipped and untarred it, then i ran the following (as per the instruction file)

/.configure
make
make test
make install

everything looked like it went through ok, the folders in the usr/local/ssl directory all have a modified date of today. But when i run an openssl version command I still get the version as openssl 0.9.6b

Any suggestions?

I recently upgraded openssl with no problems. i downloaded the openssl.tar.gz and the opensslengine.tar.gz .. and did
./config
make
make test
make install


you could try deleting the ssl directory and then recompiling and install it again, that should solve your problem.
