Have an IVS2 that has LCR set up and I can mostly see how toll restriction works with that. Problem is they don't dial 9 for LCR. They have direct line appearances on their phones and they press those buttons to dial out. How does TR work in that situation? I get CM 1201, CM 3511, CM 35 yy=51-58; but I'm lost at CM 81. Where is it defined what exactly is being restricted?

Since you are not accessing LCR (i.e dialing 9 first) the direct trunk appearances are bypassing toll restriction.

Are you saying that you do have some sort of toll restriction on the direct trunk appearances?

yes. some phones can dial out, some can't. If I do CM1201>ext>11 on a restricted phone, it is no longer restricted.

LCR is stil applicable for restriction purposes. You set the patterns in Cmd 8A4000-8A4007 (depending on the pattern used but I would expect yours to be 8A4000). So for example if you want 911 to be unrestricted, Cmd 8A4000 de 911 de B15 exe (PLEASE NOTE as the patterns can be changed in Cmd 81 this is only to be considered an example, you must ascertain the correct codes for your own installation).

Just to add.... If you want to be sure which pattern you are using in Cmd 8A400X you can check Cmd 3576 as this is how you get the two linked together when you aren't using lcr.

That sounds like that is what I'm looking for. So if 3576 is set to 15 then there would be no toll restriction applied to calls placed by using a direct line appearance button and 1201 would have no affect on what they could dial?

Probably not. But never having tried derestricting a line that way I can't be sure.

I always apply toll restrictions but derestrict individual extensions by 1201 set to 11. The reasoning is that should one of the currntly unused numbers be allocated to a service you want restricted, it automatically is and you have to programme them to be allowed. Imagine if you left all unused codes permitted and one became a premium service. The customer could find themselves with a big bill before they know what is happening. Who do you think they would blame for the bill????
