I've used Proxy software for a few years. Ever since I recently got a Verizon DSL account when I test for Proxies all addresses come up invalid/not anonymous. I've tried multipul different software titles. Anonymity 4 Proxy, Stealther, Anonymizer, Multiproxy. They all give me the same problem of invalid / not anonymous proxy addresses. Is there a known problem with using DSL with proxy software. Is there any software that will actually work with my DSL line? Please help

I seem to be having the same problem. Did you ever fins a solution? Thanks!

This may be a dumb/obvious question, but is your browser set to use or point to the proxy? Weather you use dial-up, broadband, or some type of dedicated line shouldn't matter, it's either client or proxy configuration (by proxy configuration I mean, did you acidently disable the proxy even though it's running? For example, the proxy may be running, but it may have an option to enable to disable itself (although it still may be "running").

Hope this helps...

Thanks for your reply. I've also used proxy managers successfully before, and I'm currently using Stealther on a different system.

The "Internet Options" set-up requires you to enable "Use a proxy server...". You then type in "localhost" or 127.0.0.1 and a port specific to the program. Stealther's is 14000 and MyProxy (I believe) is 8088. The proxy manager checks a proxy list for response time, anonymity, etc. then plugs in proxies from the list according to whatever rules you choose.

My workaround has been to check the proxy list on my working system then pick one or two to enter into the "Internet Options" set-up on my Verizon DSL account directly. This works fine. For some reason, I just can't use the proxy manager software. Any ideas?
