I lost my Sys drive. I need recommendations.

NetWare 5.1 SP5
Veritas BackupExec 9.1

Can I follow TID10016775 ( ). If can I restore Sys from tape after the operation is complete to restore ZenWorks and stuff or do I need to do something different?

I originally was going to just load sys and try to restore it from Sys until I found the TID.

Any and all help appreciated.

When you say you lost it, what exactly do you mean? It Won't mount? hardware failure? it ran away? playing hide and seek and can't find it?

Hi

No you can not just restore the SYS volume and all will be well again. Best to give Novell support a call before attempting a rebuild.
Check your drivers are loading OK and run C:\nwserver\vrepair if possible.

Good luck

David

The partitions were wiped when I tried to move the Raid1 array to larger server harware. I'm not exactly sure why it happened, but the controller I attached the drives to wrote info to the drives that didn't work out real well.

I ended up reloading the server. The data volumes were intact and I just reattached permissions.
