PLEASE HELP!!!!! GeForce 4 Problem

OK so my computer screen is messed up. I have Windows XP Home Edition. I also have a GeForce 4 MX 440. I can't switch my settings and it is stuck at 800x600 4-bit. How do i fix this, i downloaded the latest drivers and everything. A mesage pops uyp telling me its running off of the VGA??
PLEASE HELP!!

Uninstall the Video Card from the Device Manager, and then reboot and let Windows Install default drivers.

Then, download and install the correct latest drivers and reboot again. All should work fine...

reboot in safe mode, uninstall drivers

reboot in normal mode, install newest drivers from nvidia

Make sure you have the proper drivers for your monitor as well
