OK - this is probably something really stupid but I cannot make this damn thing work.

I have configured an Exchange server to dial an ISP - but I cannot get any outgoing mail to get to anyone except anyone with an address of that ISP.

This is the error message I am getting - please help me!!!!!

The recipient name is not recognized
The MTS-ID of the original message is: c=US;a= ;p=SP LITHO;l=SERVER-030807092728Z-19

I think ur ISP is not alowing u to relay the mails from his server. Kindly contact ur ISP and tell him that u are unable to send the mails or just tell him the exact error message that u r getting.

As u had not pasted the complete error message, I think u might be getting error no. 550

Try opening the Exchange Administrator, click the connections tab and under Message Delivery click the radio button 'forward all messages to host'. Enter the SMTP address (name or IP) of your ISP's email server. Click 'OK' and shutdown and restart the IMS service.

I had the same problem with Cox cable. They only let you send email through port 25 to their email server. Supposedly to stop spam. Whatever.
