I have a 2509 with three USR Sportster Modems (56K) attached. The IP Address of the Router is 129.0.6.201

Problem #1

I can only connect at a maximum speed of 26.4 regardless of which port that i connect to or from a wide of dial-in computers.

Problem #2

I can not access the internet from the dial up computers. I connect to the internet using a netopia R series t1 Router. The address of the router is 129.0.6.237.
I would like this to be the gateway for the dialup computers.

Here is my current configuration

The first problem with the modem speed could be caused by your telco. The Telephone Companies will only gurantee 9600.

As far as the 2nd problem I would say that a default route and or a ip route could be used (129.0.6.237). I would have to look at it further if that does not work. Jeter@LasVegas.com

Problem #1: If your goal is to get 56k out of your 56k modems, you won't with your current setup. The only way to go over 28.8 on modems is be using a digital-analog setup. You are using an analog(modem)-digital(Phone Network)-analog(modem) setup. Basically, one analog modem is calling another analog modem. An example of a digital-analog setup, is when one side of the phone call has a digital termination(i.e.-ISDN PRI or ISDN BRI)

Problem #2: The first thing I would try is assigning a gateway to your stations via the router.
async-bootp gateway 129.0.6.237
Then try to ping locally(something on the 129.0.6.237), then the Netopia, then the Internet. Evaluate results then repost.
