This is for a file server.

2X IBM eServer xSeries 346 Express Server
4X IBM SCSI Ultra320 36.4GB Hard Drive
2X IBM ServeRAID 6M Storage controller (RAID)
1X IBM EXP400 - storage enclosure
1X IBM SCSI Bus Expander and Enclosure Services Module - storage controller
12 X IBM Ultra320 146GB Hard Drive
2 X Microsoft Windows Server 2003 Enterprise Edition

We expect the storage requirements to hit 1TB very soon.

How would you rate this. Any comments or suggestions would be very appreciated. Is it better to use the SCSI or Fiber?

TIA

Use SCSI or Fibre for what? The connection to the shared storage?

Very Important to make sure IBM supports all the hardware for your clustered environment. I would look into a fiber solution not only for better performance, but there were issues with IBM ServRAID cards and clustering. You are using a newer generation ServRAID card so I am not sure if those issues have been resolved. IBM has a place on thier web-site with all of the Hardware configurations they support for clustering, again make sure your HW is deemed supported. Oh yeah, happy surfing IBM's maze of a web-site.

Good luck...
