Playing WaveFiles over Modem (Unimodem Header File?)

I have been trying to play wave files through my modem. Because of my various difficulties with TAPI 2.2 & 3.1, (see earlier posts here and in COM/DCOM) I'm trying to work through the modem directly. As I would like the solution to be hardware independent I was looking at accessing the Unimodem driver directly; I don't have a reference to the functions though. I can see what the functions are, I just don't have a clue as to what parameters are to be passed. Any ideas or assistance would greatly appreciated.
