i am desperate, and a deadine approaches.

i have a 25mb projector that is to autorun off of a cd, it contains one .AVI and one .MPG
i get large red Xs instead of movies when run from the CD.

how do i link to these external files to bully them into playing? is it an Xtras conflict?
this doesn't seem like it should be all that difficult, but i don't know how to do it.

PLEASE... i need wisdom.

Big red X means an Xtra is missing to display the media (in this case MPEG video). To play MPEG video in Director, you need to use either:
- MPEG Xtra such as MPEG Advance
- QuickTime
- Windows ActiveX control
Or buy Director MX 2004!

Macromedia has this good article about the issue:
