Playing .mov files on DVD player

I just bought an Apex ADV-3800 VCR&DVD Player. It supports Cd, Cd-r, Cd-rw, dvd and dvd-r and rw, and mp3 files and Kodak Picture. I have a Kodak LS443 digital camera and I like to take .mov video files with it. I want to play the .mov files on my new dvd player but when I burned them to a Cd-r, they played on my computer but not the dvd player. Can anyone help me?

The cd support is audio cd or video cd format. For a VCD, the movie file must be encoded using MPEG-1 compression. Check out
