Does anyone know of any feature / code to listen to hold music through a 1416 or 9500 series phone as background music. Looking for Partner ACS feature 19 equivalent.

-thank you!!

None of the Avaya IP Office products have that feature.
It is not possible to do it by any means, including 3rd Party Equipment.

In essential it works with file uploaded to SD card. *34 is the shortcode.

*34 is used to test/verify that the selected Music on Hold has been downloaded and is playing correctly.

If you use it, your extension will show busy (DSS/BLF) to others.
If you get any calls in while listening, you will get the Abbreviated Ring too. Unless you change the option.
You can do it, but like so many other shortcomings of the IP Office, it is a workaround solution.

Unfortunately, the background music is not a feature that carried over from the Partner ACS to the Basic/Partner mode of IP Office, and since the Basic mode only uses an external source for the on-hold music, I don't see any workaround. [sad]

scio me nihil scire :)

I forgot to mention that the *34 Short Code is only for the IP Office Standard/Essential, not the Basic/Partner.
