Here's a goodie....

We have 8.88 storage centre
cls is at 8.9
new voip logger at 9

We recently moved a off shore operation to a new site.

We imported the cls database into a new cls with the new voip logger.

We can search for the calls as the cls database is all present but when we try to play the call the cls doesn't find the call although teh path to the storage centre is present.

any ideas? Nice are saying t upgrade the storage centre but I think this is bull

It's not getting any smarter out there. You have to come to terms with stupidity, and make it work for you.

can you ping the machine name (with full domain suffix) of the storage center server from the workstation you are trying to replay from? Try adding the storage center (machine name including domain name) to the host of the workstation to see if this resolves your issue. If it is sitting there continuously trying to locate the call it indicates the workstation cannot resolve the name lookup.

Also try connection to the archive directory from the workstation.

Looks like it was the storage centre not recognising the logger.

hwever we are unable to use the voip logger to replay calls from a trunkside logger.

Any ideas?

The history behind this is that we moved part of our business into another location that had a voip logger. we moved the cls database successfully etc but we coonot play archived calls from before the dat efo teh move.

As RoamingKiwi said, try pinging the SC using the name shown in the vcServerID field of the database. If you can't ping that name then it is a problem with name resolution and thus the reason why you can't retrieve. It is possible that adding the server to the domain added a domain suffix which wasn't in the vcServerID, and therefore doesn't resolve.

If the resulting ping does not give a reply, try adding it to the hosts file (in c:\winnt\system32\drivers\etc) and try pinging it again. If it responds, then you should be able to retrieve.

Also, try connecting to the path located in vcArchivePath and see if asks for authentication. If it does, then that might be where the application might be getting stuck at. (since it can't enter credentials). In that case, just make sure that all the Nice Servers can reach that location by connecting to the path and entering the authentication credentials.

Hope this helps.
