We have a helpdesk which would like a sound to be played via their CMS Plasma screen to indicate calls are in the queue.

The hardware is Definity Rel 9.5, CMS rel 8 and the a JVC plasma screen

Any ideas anyone.

sorry forgot to mention the calls are routed via a VDN and vector

On the pc that runs the plasma screen, set vdn or skill exceptions for number of calls waiting.
When this limit is exceeded centrevu supervisor will play the windows default beep sound.
The audio could be output to the screen.

Hope this helps

We have this set up but we are trying to play a unique sound not the default and we wish it played all the time calls are queuing

Any more ideas?

Hey DPhil,

Another option would be via the DEFINITY. On the hunt group form below you'll see some red tekst. Where the XXX's are you can put a analog port.
Now what will happen when a call is in the queue that analog port will start ringing. So if you connect a analog phone the bell will ring. Yu could also connect a ringing device, or a relay that triggers a contact that will let something make a sound or puts a light on.

It is not exactly what you're asking for, but now you can play a around with this and see if it would be an option.

You can play any sound or wave file you record.
You will need to go to sounds settings for your pc in contol panel.
The setting is I think "Windows Exclamation" click on it and you can change it to any sound you like.
If its not Exclamation try "Default Beep "

Paul

Thanks Europe we will try it as a last resort if that's ok.

Paul We have tried what you suggested but we just get a Beep or a Ring. we are trying to get continuous noise beep beep beep........ or ring ring ring..... etc while calls are above the threshold, Any more ideas?
