I am admin with ARD. Any way to play a sound file on a remote Mac?

OSX Tiger.

In what manner do you need to do this? Do you want the sound file on the remote computer to play on the remote computer or your local machine? Do you want a sound file on the local computer to play on the remote computer?

You need to execute an audio player application that resides on the computer that you want to play the audio file. You need to set up file sharing if you want to play a remote audio file.

Play a local file on the remote machine. With out opening Itunes if possible. Im sure a unix script could do this.
