Play multilple scences?

how do you play 2 scences at once then just repeat one of the scences over and over, i want to create a scene with just a image that use alpha setting at 0 then increases to 100% over 20 seconds whilst the site is created?
i want to do this for a few images etc but i only want scene 1 to repeat and stop scene 2 until a link is pressed.

Do you know the concept of "MovieClips"? MovieClips have their own Timelines independent from the main Timeline.
