Has anyone succeeded in getting Platinum for DOS to run in a Windows XP command prompt window? Thread thread633-351848 posed the question years ago, but did not get a reply. As posted there, various applications get Error 67 in PLTGET when run. On the server, these same applications get a message indicating their tables are over the 99 record limit (sounding like it thinks its a demo version). Thanks!

Every time you move Platinum from one server to another, you need to re-register it. Platinum adds license strings in the control database and in the master database that are left behind since you do not transfer the master database from one server to another. The license string is dependant upon what the server string is and that stays with the server. You need to contact the manufacturer and if you're current on your technical support agreement, they will issue you a new license string for the new server.

Thank you for your reply. The problem only seems to occur when running from a Windows command prompt window. We also tested a DOS client using the Microsoft Networking client software and it seems to work fine.

If this is a licensing issue, shouldn't the problem occur on all clients?

Thanks for any additional help!
Tim
