We have a Citrix 8.1 for Server 2000 machine (Built in Januray). It has suddenly stopped accepting connections from users with Windows '98 or lower. All W2K workstaions are able to connect. The error that the unlucky users are getting is a protocol driver error.
No significant changes have been made to the server. The only thing we did yesterday was to remove another server from the network which was running WINS and DNS. These had been disabled and tested last week. I rebooted the MetaFrame server and several remote users were able to log on afterward. When I discovered the problem this morning, the only error log message I could relate to it was a warning: "The teminal server cannot issue a client license" All licenses are activated.

Any ideas?

Just a few simple things to start with that im sure you have already looked at, but for piece of mind...

Licenses to total users is sufficient.

Within the Program Neighborhood the IP(or UNC name)address of the master browser has been specified.

You can ping the server by ip address and UNC name from any client in a dos prompt.

Other things to look at...

How where the 98 clients resolving WINS and DNS server address ? was this specified through DHCP or manually added to the client ? have these changes been resolved on each client ? if a workstation is still trying to resolve the UNC name using either the old WINS or DNS server this can cause a problem... use WINIPCFG on a client to qualify this.

Well... if all the above is ok, then let me know and ill see what else I can come up with withmore details... as I said, this is all standard stuff, but you may have missed something (hopefully)

Hope this helps
