Hi Guys,

Just wondering if anyone has had problems with wired Plantronics headsets. We recently 'upgraded' a site from 5410 to 1616 and used the existing headsets with the cross over leads required. The headsets work but volume levels are really weird. Some are low volume some are high. The main problem seems to be the headsets picking up too much background noise and subsequently cutting the users voice off to the caller. The actual IP side of things works fine as when we use the handsets there are no problems.

We are going to replace with noise cancelling headsets at some considerable cost, but just wanted to know if anyone else has had such issues.

In the "Menu" of the phone, look for automatic gain controle. Turn it off on headset.

Did you replace the headset connector too? 5410 and 16xx connectors are different.

The 1616 sets probably use a different Headset Interface Cord, than the one used on the 5410 sets. Check the documentation or Avaya's website for the correct one.
