Plantronics A22 conected into headset port of Optipoint 500 Adv = Please try later

I have a Plantronics A22 conected into headset port of Optipoint 500 Adv.
It doesn't work however and gives the message "Please try later"

The A22 works when connected into the handset port and I lift the handset.
Also the headset port works with a standard RJ-9 connector.

But I cannot get the A22 working with the headset port.

Any help welcome.....

I believe the optipoints have to use a "polaris" style connector (black color - wired differently). I also believe the correct part is A10-16-S1 but I have not had a chance to try it yet. I have used the 27190-01 on the optipoints and that works, but the users complain of low headset volume. I believe the A10... has a little bit of signal boost capability.

I have been using optipoints so far, but am going to the openscape phones. I bought the A10 for the openscape phones, but the guy I bought it from says it's the right one for all the sienmens phones unless you need the 8-wire plug.
