I heard that VB can work on Foxpro DBF Tables. I want to know if it readily supports access to DBF tables using its own native commands/functions, or do I need to setup connectivity drivers.
medic,

Think you'll need to use ODBC in order to work with .dbf files.
Mike
michael.j.lacey@ntlworld.com
<a href=
If the DBF file that Foxpro uses is the same as DbaseIV DBFs, then VB can deal with them natively. Just use the Jet engine.

nick bulka

<a href=
Thanks for responding guys!

Do you mean VB has built-in commands similar to Foxpro's SEEK and SET RELATE TO? Does it support FoxPro compound indexes (.CDX)?
I'm not familiar with Foxpro, so I'm afraid I don't know the answer to your question. I'd suggest going to the Microsoft site and doing some research on the Jet engine.
nick bulka

<a href=
