Placing .Tiffs in PM 7.0 1

Hi,
I am trying to Place some .TIF photos into a Document. All the TIFFs were made in PhotoShop CS, all are the same DPI, the PM7 document is also set to the same DPI. Some will Place OK, but others I get an error "Unsupported BitPerSample 8601:20748". What does this mean? What am I doing wrong?
I tried setting one photo to CMYK but that did not help.
I am using WinXP Home.

Hi, Bill,

Re-save your TIFFs using 8bits/channel.

In PS, it's Image -> Mode -> 8bits/channel.
