I want to place a text with tabs in 4 columns in Pagemaker and I can't have the line fit the column.
Example:
--------- Bracelet tab tab NJRS tab tab $20 --------
--------- Earrings tab tab EARS tab tab $10 --------

--------- Bracelet NJRS $20 --------
--------- Earrings EARS $10 --------
It is how it looks in Word 2000.

-------- Bracelet
NJRS $20 ------
-------- Earrings
EARS $10 ------
It is how it looks in Pagemaker.

Can you help, I like everything to be the same way than in Word 2000 to fit in the colums.

Thanks
Murielle

Hi,

The utility to use is indents/tabs under the Type menu.
Select all your text and change the settings as where the tabs have to be, hit the apply button and you can see the result.

A tip
if you type your text first in a Text editor (Word, Wordperfect,...) The best thing to do is only use one tab between the columns. Probably you will not have a clean layout in your text editor, but in Pagemaker the definition of the tabs is easyer.

Murielle: it cannot be expected, that a *.DOC is correctly imported in PM.
The easiest way is to import *.TXT or *.RTF, especially if other contributors
write texts. Then arrange everything new in PM. ---G.Hoffmann
