I have to place the same pattern in different parts of my project and I was wondering if there's a way to do it Simultaneously?? I tried selecting all the objects and placing but didn't work...
Not quite sure what you mean by placing same pattern in different parts of project. If it means that you want this to appear on on various pages - at the same place on each page, the easiest way to do that is put the pattern on a page and make a Master via the Pages pallette. With a master you can then right click on a page icon in Pages window and selct Apply Master and select the master you want to apply to that page.
If you're unfamiliar with masters, read up on them in ID Help because there's a quite a lot when you take in all the various options.
i'm sorry but this not the case. Thanks for your time anyway. I'll give a simple example. Imagine a lot of squares in different places in my artwork. Then I scan a fabric, for example, and I want this picture scanned being placed in specific squares on this page. What I want is select some squares and place that picture in order to have it place individually in each of the squares selected. What I am doing right now is placing one by one and since I have so many objects to place my pattern I am taking too much time.....
Wouldn't it be easier to place the pic in the square first, group the 2 objects if necessary and then just clone them. If you need a lot of repeats you could use either Duplicate or Step & Duplicate in the Edit menu.
On mac the key combo for duplicate is command+option+shift+D. Step and duplicate is option+shift+V
No. On my example I gave the objects as being squares but they are not the same. I have rectangles, tringles, squares and more different shapes. I worked on Photoshop to create my pattern and when I place in each of those objects I have to fit them into the frame one by one. If framing could done at once also would be more than perfect. So far I was just looking for something to place my patterns. When the object is big the components of the pattern are bigger and when it's small they are small.
If all your forms are on the same spread you can combine their pathes, place the picture and then release the combined pathes, than you will find in each frame the same picture linked. Now you need only to fit the picture into each frame, maybe that a script is available to do this.
